Project 6
OnThePeriphery airbnb style booking system for glamping locations. Over the course of a few short weeks I built this online booking website for glamping. First I helper decide on the most MVP website we could make - in this case - Functionality to view a location and make a booking was made first, and then functionality to search for a location. By first thinking about what the a useful MVP would look like I was able to build a functional version of the website in just 1 and a half weeks. This sytem consisted of a homepage, search functionality and functionality to make a booking and recieve information via e-mail. By working in this way we were able to get a useful product out the door asap rather than getting stuck in the weeds of less useful/unrequired features e.g we left out authentication to being with and bookings were made via e-mail. Then once that MVP was ready for live, we continued to build upon the system using the suite of tests I had oput inplace to implementmore featues such as login, client to owner communication etc.
Now visible at https://www.tradecultivator.io I built this online trading log to track my own trades in the stock market. It provides me with a simple form to open and close trades along with important statistics such as win rate calculated on my closed trades.
I am continualy looking to improve my knowledge, I saw this TDD course and had to sign up. Following the course I created platform for local concert promoters to sell tickets to their events. Over the course of 166 lessons spanning just under 22 hours of content.
Brought onto this project to improve poor performance, we managed to massivly decrease the load on the server and bring some page times down from +40 seconds to just a few seconds. Involved a large cleanup/re-write of existing 3rd party extensions and a brand new theme.
Re-themed, upgraded, and optimized this website. Investigated current code and made speed improvements using tools such as Magento ECG, upgraded to the latest enterprise version, and rebuilt the theme.
As a traveler, some facilities can be difficult to find when having to search online in new languages. For this reason, I built this Laravel-based location search website to allow me to find laundromats and public services on the move. Written with TDD in mind, I built the locations and search options as well as imported scraping scripts to allow me to upload maps from multiple other websites.
